Can I just say that..

sometimes shit happens?! I mean, it's my blog. I can say that.
Here's proof.

This weekend I went to Austin to photograph the Kojie's formal on a party boat at Lake Travis. Eric pulled down close to the ramp to let me out to get my huge, very heavy lights and camera equipment out of the trunk. He got out of the car to help me and left it running. He decided to help me carry the lights onto the boat so he went back to turn off the car. He reached his arm into the window and turned off the car and it started to roll , not down the ramp, but off the cliff. Eric tried to grab the car, but the momentum was too strong. It nose dived into the boulders and rolled into the water. It floated with the current out 20 feet and bumped up next to the boat. One of the boat workers grabbed a rope and ran it through a hook under the car bumper and tied it up before it filled with water and started to sink.

This is the cliff. My car rolled off from between the first and second posts.

These are some of the ACU boys admiring the submarine.

This is about 9:30pm right before the tow truck arrived. We left the dock about 11:00.

So.. well. I guess that's it. It wasn't by any means a pleasant experience. And it should be interesting going to work and school and to photography jobs and weddings with one car, which is Eric's and a manual and I don't know how to drive a stick shift. I guess I'll be learning...

P.S. It cost 825 effing dollars to get it out of the water and towed back to Austin. We were in a suburb of Austin at Lake Travis.

i know it's just a car, and an earthly possession none the less..but when its all you have, and you're barely making it any way.. and it's what you use to earn some income.. driving to weddings and photo shoots.. its kinda gut wrenching..
